Deviating from everything technical

So I felt like my art has been stagnating because I haven't really been doing any art for just me. This is a character from League of Legends, her name is Morgana. Its rough, but like I said I am deviating from everything I normally do, going 100% painterly with only 2 layers! yikes! haha anyway I will be finishing her in my free time, probably doing other characters as well, since I am really enjoying this release.

Just letting the painting take me where it wants to go, ignore the brick texture it is more of a placeholder, unless I end up liking a juxtaposition of realism and painterly ness. Right now basically i took my thummie and wanted to see what it looked like in a tonal arrangement. Its very rough, but i thought I might enjoy feedback on the tonal arrangement not necessarily the execution of edges, etc.

Lesson 1: How do you know its time you should stop painting?

When this happens. -.- haha anyway no he is not technically naked since he is not 'fully featured' but whilst I was painting his shadows before painting the detailed clothing this is what I came up with. I put him on the lineup to just see how things are totally not hooking up with each other. And I thought it was really funny. I will be going to bed now, and we will see if this peculiar mood passes.

This is showing a WIP for three characters in the starchild story. From left to right Lance, Evelynn, and Adom. There will be at least one more added to the bunch, and I will have the styles hook up more later. As for now I am working on the gestures of the two on the left, before jumping headlong into painting details.

This is radically different from his normal colors, but I am just playing around, and wanted to know what you thought. Also note that it is not finished, these are rough colors/values just exploring different possibilities. I give a high five to anyone who can guess what movie i was watching while painting this. :)
